Programs Chair

Simrin Desai is a 3rd year Chemical Engineering student at McGill University. Though she is a true born-and-raised Torontonian at heart, her family hails from Nairobi, Kenya  Simrin plans on moving back to Nairobi following the completion of her education in Canada to pursue a career in Bioresources Engineering.

Simrin is a keen at learning new languages – she speaks Gujarati, French, Spanish and English, and has picked up various other languages, such as Kiswahili, through her extensive travels. She also enjoys baking, and hopes to fuse this hobby with her career one day by opening a Gastronomic Engineering restaurant.

As an active member of McGill residences, having been VP Internal on her council and having been recently hired as a McGill residence don, Simrin enjoys connecting people of various backgrounds through events and programs. She plans to incorporate these skills into her position as Programs Chair for NSBE Canada, and hopes to help the organization create a foundational program layer upon which it can further expand.
